I am Senior Assistant Professor of Economics (RTD-B) at University of Milan-Bicocca in Milan. I am also affiliated with Trinity College Dublin, where I was based over the period 2016-2021 (currently on leave) and Trinity Impact Evaluation unit (TIME), Laboratory for Effective Anti-poverty Policies (LEAP) (Bocconi University), MISUM – Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets (Stockholm School of Economics), Centro Studi Luca d’Agliano (University of Milan), and LICOS -Center for Institutions and Economic Performance (KU Leuven).
I am an applied economist with prime interest in development and political economics. My research has been financially supported, among others, by Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), International Growth Center (IGC), UK’s Department for International Development (DFID), Children Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), and Fondazione Cariplo. I also worked at the European Commission (DG Development) and as a consultant for the World Bank.
