I am an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Milano-Bicocca, an invited researcher at Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (JPAL) (MIT), and an affiliated researcher at Trinity Impact Evaluation unit (TIME) (Trinity College Dublin), Laboratory for Effective Anti-poverty Policies (LEAP) (Bocconi University), MISUM – Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets (Stockholm School of Economics), Centro Studi Luca d’Agliano (University of Milan), and International Security and Development Center (ISDC).
I am currently a Senior Academic Advisor for the World Food Programme, and have previously worked as a consultant for the World Bank and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Development.
My research has been financially supported by Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), International Growth Center (IGC), UK’s Department for International Development (DFID), Children Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), Fondazione Cariplo, and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, among others.
Before joining Milan-Bicocca I was an Assistant Professor (with tenure) at Trinity College Dublin (Ireland). I hold a Ph.D, in Economics from KU Leuven (Belgium), and both an MSc and a BSc in Economics and Socal Sciences from Bocconi University (Italy).
